Turboshaft-16 engine successfully obtained type certificate

On October 10, 2019, the turbocharger-16 engine (WZ16) model certification conference was held in Tianjin. China Aviation Development Corporation announced at the Fifth China Tianjin International Helicopter Expo that the engine has officially obtained the type certificate issued by the Civil Aviation Administration of China.

Vortex shaft-16 engine is a civil aviation engine jointly developed by China Aviation Development Corporation and France Safran Group. It can meet the needs of 7-ton twin-engine helicopters such as AC352. The engine has high reliability, long repair intervals, and reached the international advanced level.

The turboshaft-16 engine is the first aviation product developed by China in a peer-to-peer cooperation model with foreign countries. It is an important result of the cooperation between China and France in the aviation field. The aircraft completes the entire process of development and airworthiness review in strict accordance with the latest airworthiness regulations, which is of great significance for promoting the development of China's civil aviation industry.
