Economic operation of the automobile industry in January 2020

According to the statistical analysis of key automobile enterprises by the China Automobile Industry Association, affected by the Spring Festival holiday (the effective working day in January is only 17 days), in January 2020, the production and sales of automobiles decreased significantly.

First、January car sales fell 18% year-on-year

In January, the production and sales of automobiles totaled 1.783 million and 1.941 million, respectively, with output down 24.6% year-on-year and sales down 18.0% year-on-year.

（First）Passenger car sales in January fell 20.2% year-on-year

In January, the production and sales of passenger vehicles were respectively 1.444 million and 1.614 million, with output falling by 27.6% year-on-year and sales volume by 20.2% year-on-year.

（Second）Commercial vehicle sales in January fell 5.7% year-on-year

In January, the production and sales of commercial vehicles were respectively 341,000 and 326,000, with a year-on-year decrease of 7.8% and a decrease of 5.7% in sales.

Second、New energy vehicle sales in January fell 54.4% year-on-year

In January, the production and sales of new energy vehicles were respectively 40,000 and 44,000, with output falling by 55.4% year-on-year and sales volume falling by 54.4% year-on-year. Among them, the production and sales of passenger vehicles completed 35,000 and 39,000 units, with a year-on-year decrease of 56.3% and sales volume decreased by 54.5%; the production and sales of commercial vehicles both completed 0.5 million units, production volume decreased by 37.4%, and sales volume decreased by 51.7%.
